Dimanasus Prophecy-THE DREAMS Film to be Screened at September 2008 New York Independent International Film and Video Festival

(New York, NY - 19 June 2008) - Belarusian filmmaker and producer Dzmitry Vasilyeu announced from his home in Minsk last week that he has been officially invited to attend the New York Independent International Film & Video Festival for the screening of his film, Dimanasus Prophecy-THE DREAMS. The festival will be held in New York City, September 18th through the 25th.

The NYIIFVF was founded in 1993 and is recognized by the film and entertainment industry as one of the leading film events on the independent festival circuit. It was established to help underground, low-budget and non-mainstream Indie artists gain recognition for their artistic work. The festival has proven to be a valuable experience for international

filmmakers as they get a chance to win awards and network with American buyers, distributors and members of the press.

The festival hosts film, music and art events in the two entertainment capitals of the United States: New York and Los Angeles, and hosts independent artists from around the world from countries like Australia, Brazil, Sweden, Kenya, Japan, Canada, France, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Mexico, Colombia, Russia, Germany, Spain, India, the U.K, and now Belarus. It is the largest Indie movie festival on the planet.

Dimanasus Prophecy is an independent movie project, about human trafficking in Eastern Europe. Although fictionalized, Dimanasus Prophecy is based upon a true love story between a young Belarusian guy and an American girl who unwittingly get sucked into the dark criminal world of human trafficking of women. It's a detective-action-comedy movie, and a raw, in-your-face portrayal of human nature's ugliest sides; about our potential to allow ourselves to be controlled by avarice that's lower than that of a vicious wild animal, and by very great cruelty insensitive to the pain and suffering of others. Mr. Vasilyeu is still seeking men and women to cast for roles in his upcoming movie productions. He is also seeking individuals willing to volunteer their help, sponsors and investors.

Vasilyeu expressed his excitement for the recognition that his project has given to his home country, and to the cause of fighting against human-trafficking. He said, "I hope my project will help other people in the world learn more about the capacities of the Belarusian people, and about this terrible plague, human trafficking, that destroys the lives of our youth, and adds to the disintigration of our society. I want my movie as well as my life, to make a contribution toward the alleviation of suffering, the increase of human understanding, and the sense that we're truly brothers and sisters living together on this beautiful 'blue marble' that we call Earth, that should be blessed by peace, happiness and prosperity for all of us."

Human trafficking, drugs, prostitution, survival... A story about the triumph of true love!
